 “Yo, Serah.”
I was putting my indoor shoes in my locker when a familiar voice interrupted me.
“Oh! Hey, Kagami! What’s up?” I asked as the closed the door.
“So, Nina told me you didn’t come to support the match the other day.”
My eyes widened and my face flushed.
I became friends with Kagami pretty quickly since the term started at Seirin High because we were in the same class…but I’d never actually told him that I didn’t enjoy basketball.
“Yea…about that.” I paused to think. “I was busy, and—“
He glared at me.
“Okay, fine! I’m sorry, I just don’t really like basketball that much. It’s…I just don’t really understand the game.” I smiled innocently at him.
He rolled his eyes at my probably ridiculous facial expression.
“That’s fine, but it’s pretty important for the team to have as much support as possible. You’ll come to the next one, right?” He asked.
 “Erm…no?” I replied.
“It’ll be a good one, though! We’ll be playing against Shutoku High which has a player who was in the Generation of Miracles.”
That rang a small bell. I think Nina-chin mentioned something like that before…I think she said it was Kise-kun who was a member?
“Is that really so interesting though? I mean, isn’t Kuroko one of those…people.”
“Yes, but he’s on our team.”
“…that’s a really poor attempt at trying to convince me to come and watch.” I laughed.
“Geez, Serah! It’s not like I’m asking you to jump of a cliff or something! Just to come and watch the game!”
“Okay, okay! Calm down.” I gestured with my hands.
Kagami has a kind of crazy temper which, if I was honest, frightened me sometimes.
“Just because you’re scaring me a bit right now, I guess I’ll go.”
“Yes!” He slapped my shoulder as thanks.
“Ow! Remember I’m not the sports player here! I’m just a fragile little girl!” I said while rubbing my shoulder.
He laughed slightly. “Okay, it’s tomorrow afternoon at—“
 “Kagami. Practice is starting.”
We both turned to the side to see Kuroko standing there.

“GYAH!?” We both shouted in unison.
“K-Kuroko!! How long have you been there?!” I shrieked.
 “A while.” He replied.
I glanced over at Kagami who looked equally surprised. “Okay. I’m coming.”
He turned back to me. “Ask Nina about it. I know she wants to go as well. See ya’”
I waved as Kagami walked off with Kuroko.
How is it he lacks presence in that way? It’s kinda creepy…

~ ~ ~

It turned out that Nina-chin was going to the match. I wasn’t sure why though since Kise-kun wasn’t playing, but I wasn’t going to question it. At least I’d have company being somewhere I didn’t even want to be. We had just entered the stands when Nina-chin suddenly dashed off.
“W-Wait! Hey! Where are you going?” I asked while trying to keep up.
“Kise-kun was going to save us both a seat!” She sang happily while blushing slightly.
Kise-kun? I didn’t know they were that friendly with each other…
But she was right. Kise-kun stood up and waved us both over where there were two spare seats.
“Hi Serah! Hi Nina-chaaaaan!” Kise-kun said as we approached him.
“Hi.” I smiled as I sat down.
He started talking to Nina-chin straight away.
Wow. They really were friendly with each other. I wonder when that started?
I was about to scold Nina-chin for not telling me if something was going on with her and Kise-kun when he flung his arm out towards the court.
“Look! Look! Here they come!” He shouted excitedly.
I turned to face the court and saw both teams coming out.
“It’s against Shutoku today!” Said Kise-kun. “It’s Midorimacchi who was part of the Generation of Miracles in that team.”
I blinked at him. “Midorimacchi?” I asked while hiding a smirk.
“Midorima Shintaro.” Nina-chin corrected him. “Over there.”
I followed where she was pointing and spotted Kagami talking to a green haired boy.
Green hair?
Green hair…
Green hair!
I jumped forward in my seat. “Wait! That’s Midorima?! The boy with green hair?”
 “Yea, why?” Nina-chin asked.
I mean, when he was sat in the cart…I couldn’t tell how tall he was. But now he was standing…it was so obvious he’d be a basketball player. He was even taller than Kagami!
“Do you know him?” Kise-kun asked, clearly surprised at my reaction.
“Yes!” I replied. “I mean…no, not really. I spoke to him and someone named Takao, I think for a few seconds. But I had no idea they were basketball players.”
“You spoke to him? When?” Nina-chin asked.
“It was the other day. When you went to see the other basketball match. I went to the store and saw Takao peddling a bike and Midorima was sat in the cart.”
 “Cart?” Kise-kun laughed.
“Yes!” I glared at him. “He was sat in a cart!”
I looked back at the court and he’d moved over to where his team was waiting. I looked at him for a long moment before turning back to Kise-kun. “What made him good enough to be in the Generation of Miracles?”
“He does amazing long range shots and has high accuracy in…pretty much everything he does!” Kise-kun replied.
It seemed like he admired him a lot.
I looked back over towards the court again and watched Midorima as he unwrapped what appeared to be white tape from around his fingers. Once he finished, he pushed his glasses up his nose and flicked some hair from his face. I’m not sure why but when he did that, I felt heat rush upon my face.
What is that?
 “Are you alright?” Nina-chin asked.
I slid back in my chair, groaning. Why was this person I didn’t know affecting me like this. “I’m fine.” I responded.
I hadn’t thought of Midorima since when I saw him for the first time, but now I suddenly felt this strange attraction towards him. Like I was, somehow, drawn to him.
I load beep echoed around the room and I jumped in my seat. “What was that?!” I cried.
“Serah, calm down.” Nina-chin said. “It was just the buzzer. The game is about to start.”
 “Here we gooooo~!” Shouted Kise-kun.
Him and Nina-chin both leant forward as the game began.
I then found I was focused on the game as the sound of skidding shoes and the ball beating on the court reverberated around the hall. But it wasn’t so much the game…more like I was focused on Midorima.

The game lasted for ages, but felt like a blur in the moment.
It juggled back and forth between Seirin leading and Shutoku leading.
In the end, it was Seirin who won. I was happy that our team won…but I felt bad that Midorima had lost.

I felt bad, but…more than that, I was actually surprised!
Kise-kun wasn’t lying about Midorima’s amazing ability in being able to shoot from far away! And his skills in playing the game in general! I still didn’t understand the game, but even I could tell he was amazing! I was blown away…and even more drawn to him than I was before.
 “Serah? Are you coming?”
“Hm?” I looked up to see Nina-chin looking at me.
“The game is over. I’m going to go and congratulate the team!”
“Oh!” I stood up to follow her. “Sure, let’s go!”
We walked down from the stands and approached the team. “Hey, where did Kise-kun go?”
“He said he’ll wait for me outside.” She blushed.
I rolled my eyes. “Hey, Nina-chin. Is there something going on between you and—“
 “WE WON!!!”
I was interrupted by Riko running towards us. “We won! We won! Isn’t that great?!” She screamed.
“It’s amazing! Well done!” Nina-chin smiled at her.
“Even I have to admit that was a really good game.” I awkwardly laughed.
While Nina-chin began giving more congratulations to Riko, I took a quick glance across the court to see if Midorima was hanging around.
But from what I could see…he was the only member from his team not there. I wonder where he went?
 “Are you coming Serah?”
 “Huh?” I asked.
“Are you coming to celebrate with us?” Riko asked.
 “Oh!”
“Are you okay? You’ve been spacing out since the end of the match.” Nina-chin looked worried.
“Oh no! I’m fine. I think I’m just…a bit tired. It’s the first time I’ve sat through one of these things, you know? I’ll probably just go home and get some rest.” I smiled at them.
“Okay. We’ll see you at school tomorrow?”
“Oh, of course! I’ll be fine by then!” I waved at them as I left the hall.
I sighed deeply. “I need to go home and find a way to stop thinking about Midorima.”
I didn’t understand it. I didn’t even know this guy!
When I arrived at the entrance to the stadium, I saw it was raining outside.
“Phew. Thank god I listened to Nina-chin and brought my umbrella.”
I popped it up and began my walk home.
There weren’t many people around now. I guess they’d all seen the weather and decided to leave quickly. Can’t say I blame them…the rain is gross.
“What’s wrong with you?! Enough alread—“
“Eek!” I jumped as a loud voice echoed from behind me.
I spun around and found Midorima standing against the wall in his uniform. He was soaking wet! He must be freezing!
He spotted me and must of realised him shouting abruptly like that had frightened me. He gestured with his hand for me to wait until he was done. Maybe he wanted to apologise.
 “Aomine? I did.”
He paused. “You should be careful in the championship league.”
“…you haven’t changed Aomine. Don’t you understand? You’ll be playing against Kuroko in the championship league.”
 “Sure.”
He went to hang up his phone when a girl’s voice erupted from it. “Midorin! Sorry to bother you when you’re sad! Cheer up!”
“Shut up!” Yelled a male voice.
After that, he finally hung up.
That sounded like a weird conversation.
He put his phone in his pocket and looked over at me.
We stood like that for a while.
“Any particular reason you were standing there listening to my phone call?” He asked.
“Eh?” I was surprised that was the first thing he said. “I thought you wanted me to wait.”
“No. I gestured with my hand to say “I wasn’t talking to you” when my shouting made you jump.”
I blushed. That made more sense. Ugh…I feel like an idiot.
 “Sorry…” I murmured.
I thought for a second. “Erm…here! You can borrow my umbrella. My house isn’t too far from here and you’ll catch a cold if you continue to stand out here uncovered.”
As I stretched out my hand to give him my umbrella, he suddenly grabbed my wrist.
Before I could protest, he spoke. “Have I seen you somewhere before?”
That was abrupt! And…kind of rude.
“Maybe! If you let go of my wrist, I might tell you!” I shouted.
He thought for a second, then quickly released me. I rubbed my wrist where he had been gripping it and glanced up at him. He was purposefully looking at anywhere but me.
“Do you…remember, not too long ago, when you were being peddled in a cart up a hill?” I asked.
He looked back at me. “With Takao?”
I blinked. “You do that with other guys?!” I shrieked.
“No.” He sounded exasperated. “I meant, was I with Takao?”
“Oh! Yea, you were. I was the girl who was very surprised to see something like that.”
I could see he was trying to remember. I guess they really do do that a lot…how weird…
“Erm…you’re lucky item was a frog that day? Mr. Ri…” I didn’t want to say it. “…Mr. Ribbit.” I mumbled.
I felt my cheeks redden slightly. How embarrassing to say something like that…
“Oh yea. Now I remember you.”
“Took you long enough since you seemed to recognise me first!” I laughed.
He slid his glasses up his nose. “Sorry about that. I guess I’m just not feeling great right now…”
Because he lost the match, I presume? I wasn’t really good at cheering people up. It never really worked out well for me. Probably because I was more of a listener…but I thought I’d try anyway.

“I thought your playing was amazing!” I said maybe a bit too loudly.
“What?” He asked, clearly surprised by my outburst.
“I mean…I’ve never been interested in basketball, nor have I ever been to a match. But I went today because I was asked too, and I was completely blown away by your playing. You shoot from like, half way across the court! That’s incredible!”
He looked at me for a long moment, then awkwardly scratched the side of his nose.
 “Thanks.”
I guess he wasn’t really much of a talker. I smiled slightly.
“I might even start coming to more games since I really enjoyed seeing you play!”

Wait! No! Why did I say that? I tried to casually brush my hair across to cover my face so he couldn’t see me turning red…
“I guess that wouldn’t be a bad thing…” He murmured.
When I looked up at him through my hair, I could have sworn I saw a small smile with the tiniest hint of colour on his cheeks.
He pushed his glasses up his nose again before starting to walk away.
“Hey, I wasn’t kidding you know!” I stopped him by sticking my umbrella out. “Seriously, take it. You’ll catch a cold if you don’t cover up somehow.”
He shook his head. “I’m fine, I’ll take a bus—“
“No you won’t!” I shoved my umbrella into his stomach forcing him to take it.
 “You’re very persistent.” He said.
“Well sometimes you have to be!” I laughed. “Besides, if you have my umbrella…it means we have a reason to speak again!”
He eyes widened and obvious colour appeared on his face. “How annoying…”
I giggled.
“Well, then! I’ll see you soon!” I waved and began briskly walking away.
When I was about to cross the road, he called out to me.
 “Hey!” He shouted.
I turned back to face him. “Yea?”
 “What’s your name?” He asked.
I blushed a little. “It’s Serah. Serah Maekawa.”
He walked over to me. “If you’re going to give me your umbrella, the least I can do is walk you home so you don’t get wet…Serah Maekawa.”
I blushed even more. “O-Okay! I guess that would be…okay.”
I awkwardly and slowly shuffled underneath the umbrella. Unfortunately, it was rather small so I was forced to stand right next to him. My heart started to flutter at incredible speed when my arm touched his. Again…it’s still weird since I barely know him.
I glanced up at him and he was looking straight ahead. I smiled to myself.
He was…undeniably attractive. I'd never really been close enough to him to notice, but...he was! Wow...
“Come on.” He started to cross the road.
“Ah! Right!” I followed up behind him trying to dispel the colour from my face.
Walking home together in the rain…kind of a romantic setting. I giggled quietly to myself.
This is the first time I’ve enjoyed being outside in the rain.

A Fateful Encounter~

“Serah, you should come back and watch the game. Even if you don’t understand basketball it can still be fun!”
I snickered to myself. “Yes, but the only reason you want to watch the game is because Kise-kun is playing. You barely understand the rules yourself!”
I was talking on the phone with one of my friends who had gone to watch a basketball match. She’d only gone to watch Kise-kun play because she had a huge crush on him.
“But it’d be…fun…” She trailed off.
“Look. Even if I wanted to go back, I couldn’t. I have to buy food for tonights dinner.”
“You’re cooking? I hope your family keeps a barf bag close.” She teased.
“H-HEY! My cooking isn’t that bad!” I shouted over the phone causing a few passers-by to turn their heads in my direction.
 “Serah.”
“…okay, fine! I suck! But still you don’t need to put it so bluntly!” I laughed.
“I’m sorry!” She giggled. “Oh! I have to go now! The match is about to start!”
“Alright. I’ll see you at school tomorrow.”
 “‘kay! Bye!”
She hung up.
I sighed. “Basketball, huh?”
I’d never had much of an interest in sports to begin with, but basketball was probably one of the ones I hated the most. I didn’t understand a single thing about it. And everyone in the crowd always gets so worked up…why?
But on the other hand, maybe I should have gone back. I mean, it was my school, Seirin High playing…but it was also just a practice match.
I shook my head. “Nah, it’s fine! I mean, I don’t support any of the other sport teams at my school when they go and compete.”
As I turned the corner onto the main street, I suddenly stopped in my tracks.
Making it’s way towards me was a boy in a black school uniform peddling a bike that had a cart attached to it. Even weirder…there was another boy in the same school uniform sat in the cart.
I cocked my eyebrow. “What the hell?”
As they came closer, I could hear they were having some sort of argument.
“Damn it, we were supposed to trade at the signal. You haven’t peddled once!”
“Of course I haven’t. Todays “Oha-Asa” horoscope predicted the greatest of days for Cancers like me.”
…horoscope? Huh?
“What does that have to do with this? Anyway, if we’re coming all the way out here to see a practice match, your middle school teammates better be good!”
Oh! I wonder if they are on their way to see the match I’d just come from.
“It’s the copycat and the invisible man.”
 “Are they good?”
“Hurry up, or the game will be over.”
“It’s your fault for reading horoscopes!”
As they were about to pass me, the boy peddling looked over at me. He must have seen my confused expression as a small laugh escaped from his mouth.
“Don’t worry! This is…normal for us…” He panted.
I could barely manage a nod.
Him speaking obviously caught the attention of the boy sat in the cart. He turned is head towards me and in the short second our eyes met, I felt a small rush of heat appear on my face.
Startled out of my bewilderment, I finally spoke up.
 “I…didn’t really ask.”
Wait…that made no sense. That was like a delayed response to what the boy said to me.
He looked back over at me and laughed again. “I felt it was necessary to say.”
“Takao, keep peddling. The match will be over soon.” The boy in the cart was now looking down while taking a sip of his drink.
“You already told me that!!” Takao snapped back.
“Then it shouldn’t take too long for you to move.” The boy in the cart retorted.
I hid a smirk at their amusing exchange.
As I was about to start walking again, I noticed a small green frog sat on the knee of the boy in the cart.
I blinked twice at the frog, then looked up at him.
He’d noticed what I’d been looking at and the tiniest, almost non-existent smile, appeared on his face. “My lucky item for the day: Mr. Ribbit.” He held the frog up.
 “M-Mr. Ribbit?!” I cried out.
“He’s a superstitious idiot!” The boy peddling called back.
“Okay.” Was all I could manage.
“”A superstitious idiot?” You should know that I never miss a shot when I bring along my lucky item.”
“Yea, yea.” The boy peddling replied.
Mr. Ribbit? I giggled. That’s definitely…unique. I’d never met someone so superstitious that they actually carried around lucky items with them.
I turned to carry on walking.
A few steps down the road, I turned my head. I wasn’t sure if what I’d just witnessed was actually real or just my bored brain conjuring up something for me to pass away time with.
As I looked back and confirmed that what I’d just seen had in fact been real, I once again made eye-contact with the boy in the cart.
What? Why was he still looking at me? He slowly pushed his glasses up his nose and moved some of his green hair out of his face before looking back down again.
I watched them peddle a little further before continuing my walk.
Is it normal for a guy you’ve just met to make you blush like that? I’d barely even spoken to him as well.
“I wonder who that guy was…?”

Christmas Tag~

Helloooo everyone~! ...and Happy December! <3

The month of Christmas is now upon us!
Have you done all your Christmas shopping? Wrapped presents? Sent out cards?
...I haven't :,)
I get SO excited for Christmas every year yet I always wait until the last minute to do all the shopping and...other things ;^;

Anyway! I thought I'd do a Christmas themed blog today to celebrate the start of December :3
So I prowled through the internet and found a fun Christmas Tag to do :)
There are 25 questions to answer and if you're reading this and feel like doing this tag...go ahead! I'd love to read it when you're done :D

~ ~ ~

Question 1.
What do you like to do during your Christmas holiday?

Usually I tend to just relax and enjoy the atmosphere :)
I mostly stay warm inside spending time with my family and watching Christmas films. But I will sometimes go out an enjoy some shopping and meals; I love all the decorations that are all around the town I live in :3

Question 2.
What is your favourite Christmas film?

I actually have three favourites that I need to watch every year without fail! :,)
They are...

Tokyo Godfathers,

The Nightmare Before Christmas,

The Muppet Christmas Carol,

I recommend all of them! Especially Tokyo Godfathers <3

Question 3.
What are your favourite Christmas colours?

Hmm...red, gold and green! n.n
Because those are the most common colours of our decorations so when they go up and I see all the colours, I'm just like..
 "Yay! It's Christmaaaas~" :,3

Question 4.
Have you ever had a White Christmas?

Not technically :c
I mean, one year it had snowed so there was snow everywhere! But it's never actually snowed on Christmas ; n ; I'd love for it too, though! How magical would that be~? <3

Question 5.
Where do you usually spend your holiday?

I usually spend the holiday at my home :) our relatives come around and we all celebrate here together :3

Question 6.
Who do you spend your holidays with?

My family! :D
So that's my mum, my dad, my sister and my grandad :3

Question 7.
Do you like to stay in your pyjamas or dress up on Christmas?

It really depends on how I feel that morning :,) but I mostly wear something comfortable like leggings and a baggy jumper <3 so it is sort of like staying in my pyjamas :,>

Question 8.
What is your favourite Christmas song?

It's hard to choose just one since there are SO many, but I think one of my top favourites is..
Do They Know it's Christmas? by Band Aid <3
I think that song is very special around this time of year and it's also just got such a nice sound to it, you know~? n.n

Question 9.
Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?

Nope! I like to wait until Christmas Day :3 well...if I have any presents, that is :,) I sometimes ask for things during the year that my mum will say..
"How about we make that a Christmas present?" since my taste in gifts can be...kind of expensive.. ^u^" so she dips into her Christmas spending money for me nyihihii :,3

Question 10.
Can you name all of Santa's reindeer?

Erm...probably not..! ><"
Let's see...
Rudolf, Prancer, Dancer, Comet, Vixen, Donner and Blitzen? Is that right? Blitzen? Is that even a name? I want to check now, hang on..
*intermission music*

I was missing Dasher and Cupid :,)

Question 11.
What holiday traditions are you looking forward to most this year?

This may sound silly...but what are holiday traditions? Just things you do every year, right?

Probably the smell of the Christmas Dinner being cooked <3

Hmm...probably my sister :3 because she's so hard-working and awesome and stuff! n3n

Question 16.

That's a strange question since receiving gifts and giving them create two completely different feelings :,) I mean, I really do like to receive gifts because it's nice knowing someone spent time thinking about you and thinking what you'd like.
